Renters
First and foremost my services are free to renters seeking a new place to live. Realtors who work with landlords get paid in different ways. In many cases, local custom is for the landlord to pay the Realtor a fee to find a qualified renter. While this is not the custom everywhere, this is the custom I follow. I do not charge renters to help find them a place to live. I may, or may not get paid by a landlord for showing you his/her place. It sucks when I don’t, but I’d never pass that charge onto you.
I know here in Santa Clarita, and most of LA County it’s pretty typical for renters to find a place to rent on their own through sites like Zillow, Realtor.com, Craigslist, etc. However, all California licensed realtors, like myself, can help you find a place to rent anywhere in California.
If you are new to the Los Angeles area, you can use a Realtor for their knowledge of the local area to help you find a place that you’d like. More importantly, I can read the lease and make sure your rights as a renter are protected.
What I’m really looking for is the opportunity to show off my expertise. I want to be your go-to real estate guy for when you decide its time to buy a place of your own. I want you to feel so confident in my abilities and knowledge in real estate that if your friends or family have questions about real estate you can say “I have a guy.” Honestly, who doesn’t want to be the person who has a guy for everything?
How Long Will it Take to find a new rental?
How long it takes to find you a rental depends on several factors, including how picky you are, the supply of available rentals, and your own qualifications as a renter (credit, income, cash on hand, etc). In a perfect market with plenty of available rentals, it could take a few days to get you into a place. However, you could be searching for weeks for a place to live because you’re unprepared, your qualifications are poor, and other better-qualified renters keep snagging all the available rentals.
